The factory clutch master cylinder (CMC) in the 06-15 Civics and 02-06 RSX's are known to be rather unreliable because of their plastic internals. Because of their poor internal design and quality, this can lead to premature failures of critical parts throughout the drivetrain resulting in shift grinds or other problematic shifting engagement issues. High RPM grinds are mostly attributed to the Civic Si & RSX's CMC's inability to transfer fluid effectively/quickly enough to the slave cylinder, thus causing grinding, rasping of the gears, and synchros since the clutch disk hasn’t fully disengaged.
Upgrading the CMC and clutch line to this OEM CMC + Goodridge line kit changes the system to an older more direct, efficient, and reliable system. This improvement allows the driver to feel a more consistent and direct clutch pedal engagement which also improves shifting at high rpm's.
Note- this kit will not fix a pre-broken or damaged transmission!
